Samantha Flynn

Client Transition Manager

Warm and friendly, Sam makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet her and plays a vital role in our Client Transition Team, where she helps new clients feel welcome and supported.

A fully-qualified ACCA accountant with over 10 years of experience, Sam is very organised and loves a good list. She genuinely enjoys the variety that comes with supporting different businesses, and the fact that no two days are the same.

Having grown up in and around Morley, Sam knows the local area well and now lives in Gildersome with her husband and two teenage sons. Outside of work, she enjoys keeping active and regularly heads to the gym for BodyPump classes and circuits.

What are your main interests or hobbies?
I still go to watch both my boys play football when I can, but I also love a weekend away or an overseas city break, where I can explore somewhere new and relax with a Piña Colada or a Long Island Iced Tea.

What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
I love listening to Kisstory on the radio and I’m a big fan of 90s R&B – you can’t beat a bit of Ja Rule, Ashanti or 50 Cent.

What’s your favourite or dream holiday destination?
Marrakech is my favourite place that I’ve visited so far. I loved how different it is with its traditional way of life, bustling markets and lively atmosphere. My dream destination would be Malaysia and Borneo, as I’d love to explore and experience their culture.

What’s your favourite food?
I love fish and seafood dishes, but Thai food is definitely my favourite. If I had to choose one, it would probably be Pad Thai or a delicious noodle dish.

Do you have a favourite book our author?
I tend to read most when I’m relaxing on holiday. I usually go for something light-hearted and easy to read, and Sophie Kinsella is one of my favourite authors.

What TV show, film or boxset would you recommend to others?
My favourite shows at the moment are MobLand and Slow Horses, but I enjoy a good police or crime drama. When it comes to films, I prefer a romantic comedy or something that’s an easy watch. You can’t go wrong with Bridget Jones or Love Actually.

Do you have a favourite app you use the most?
It’s either WhatsApp – because I always seem to be getting added to a new group – or Amazon. I dread to think how much we spend on there each month!

What would you do if you won £10m on the lottery?
I’d definitely treat myself to an extended period of travelling the world and stay in some amazing luxury hotels! I’d also give up work and finally take up a new hobby, such as floristry, which is something I’ve always wanted to try.

How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Friendly, chatty, meticulous, organised and determined.

If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
I’d tell myself to take a little more time to think things through and not react too quickly in the heat of the moment. Sometimes, taking a step back and giving yourself time to reflect can make a big difference.
