Hi my name is Shaun and I’m the Head of Accountancy at our Leeds office. My role is to support clients with every aspect of their accounts.
I get a lot of satisfaction out of doing this and enjoy helping people to achieve their personal and business goals.
Family wise, I am married to Jane and we have two daughters, Chloe (22) and Lizzie (17). We also have a trusty and over-affectionate cockapoo called Toby.

What specialist skills to you offer your clients?
Having gained over 30 years’ accountancy and taxation experience at various practices in the Yorkshire area, I have worked to support and provide a professional service for all types of SMEs.
I also have 20 years’ experience of supporting clients with their accounting products and this experience has allowed me to be versatile and offer clients a bespoke solution to their individual business needs.
What were you doing before you joined?
I joined in March 2017and before that I was working as the Business Services Manager for another local accountancy practice, where I provided a wide range of accountancy services for SMEs in the Yorkshire area.
What have been your greatest professional achievements while you have been at NA?
Explaining to a potential client how we could save them tax, and they are now a client of ours!
What’s the best thing about working at NA?

Who would you most like to meet and why?
The BBC journalist Frank Gardner because he’s so knowledgeable as a result of his work in the Middle East. Although he was almost killed in the line of journalistic duty, he holds no bitterness towards what happened to him – and he continues with the same passion for the job.
If you could go back in time, what piece of advice would you most like to tell your younger self?
Believe in yourself.

My wife because she is my alter ego.

If you could only take 3 things to a desert island, what would they be and why?
My family because they ‘get me’, an endless supply of Seabrooks’ crisps and ‘Black Sheep’ beer, possibly not the best diet but at least I would be happy!
