Hi my name is Kit and I am part of the bookkeeping team at Northern Accountants.
Before I joined the team here, I was working in accounts within the construction industry, which means that I had a lot of experience dealing with CIS and subcontractors.
My days are usually dictated by deadlines, whether that is the VAT deadline, CIS deadline or MI deadline. My main role is making sure that all of our clients' books are kept up to date so that we can give them current and relevant information about their tax position, and so that they know how their business is doing. Each client is different, so sometimes my days are taken up with processing CIS returns, and other times I'll be chasing outstanding debts or raising invoices. The variety means that there's never a dull moment!
When contacting NA, please dial 0113 218 9552 and opt for extension number 204.
I have a few years' experience working in accounts now and my knowledge from working on clients across a wide range of industries has meant that I can offer my clients useful advice in a number of areas.
Before NA, I was working as an Accounts and Purchasing Manager in the construction industry
I came from working in industry so it has been a huge learning curve. My role is expanding all the time and I now do almost everything for my clients from bookkeeping to MI to payroll. In this job you are always learning new things.
The business office team are really close and we all pitch in to look out for each other and help each other when needed.
If you want to work for a forward-thinking practice who are always looking for ways to be ahead of the curve, then NA is a good place to join

To do less work and earn more money!
Mostly podcasts. Usually either No Such Thing as a Fish or 'Lore'. If it's music then it's often Die Antwoord at the moment.
Offred from The Handmaid's Tale she managed to retain hope even when she was in a terrifying and very uncertain position. I adopted her mantra as my own: Nolite te bastardes carborundorum (Google it to see what it means!)
Don't worry so much, and don' always take life so seriously. It's never too late to make a change and, despite what you might think, things do have a way of working out for the best.
I have appeared in TV Commercials for Garnier Olia hair dye.
Slow walkers! Although everyone complains that I race off when I'm walking, so maybe I'm the problem!
Angela Lansbury, I know, I'm such a granny. I actually have a signed photo of her in my house! But she has achieved so much over her career and she's been performing for such a long time. I saw her in Blithe Spirit a couple of years ago, and watching her dancing around the stage at 88 was incredible.
Bookworm, sapiophile, sarcastic, daft, curious.

I would absolutely love to not have my smartphone anymore! Then people wouldn't be able to get in touch with me whenever they wanted and I might get a bit of peace and quiet!!
A stack of books, my best friend and teabags.
